Power of the central government to make rules

The central government makes rules for carrying out the provisions of this Act. Such rules are issued by notification in the Official Gazette.

Procedure to pass a rule made under the Act

Every rule made under this Act is laid before each house of Parliament while it is in session, as soon as may be after it is made. The rule is laid for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one or more successive sessions. If both Houses agree in making any modification to the rule, or if they agree that the rule should not be made, then the rule shall have such modified effect, or be of no effect (as the case may be). Such a decision is made before the expiry of that session or successive sessions as mentioned above. Any such modification or annulment is without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.
